Denkyembour District Observes Census Night Celebration

The census night is the reference point for all census enumeration and all questions asked during enumeration will relate to the night. It is a night that is ought to be remembered by all persons. Reference to the census night is necessary to tell a complete and accurate story about the population in Ghana. It is a period which a snapshot is taken about the people in the country.

To help make the census night memorable, the District Census Implementation Committee together with the District Data Quality Management Team in the Denkyembour District held a celebration to commemorate the night. The celebration which occurred on Sunday, 27th June 2021 saw the presence of many dignitaries including the District Chief Executive of the district; Honourable Seth Ofosu Birikorang and the Member of Parliament of Akwatia Constituency; Honourable Henry Boakye Yiadom.

The celebration began around 7:00 pm in Bamenase. All supervisors, enumerators and other participants joined a convoy with sirens and loud music been played to draw attention of the people during the celebration. The celebration was extended to major towns in the district including Boadua, Topremang and Akwatia. The team also displayed fireworks during the float.

The Member of Parliament for the Akwatia constituency urged all enumerators and supervisors present to put in their all during the enumeration process in order to attain quality data for the development of the nation.
