District Chief Executive Visits Boadua GPRTU

On Wednesday 3rd March 2021, the Denkyembour District Assembly under the leadership of Honourable Seth Ofosu Birikorang held a stakeholder meeting with the members of GPRTU and traders of Boadua. The stakeholder meeting was to have a discussion on the state of COVID in the district and also distribute some PPEs to all stakeholders.

The distribution of the life changing protective equipment forms part of efforts by the District Assembly to help keep drivers, traders and the general public of Boadua safe and reduce the risk of COVID-19 infections in the District.

Addressing the stakeholders gathering, the Hon. DCE reiterated the commitment of the Nana Akufo-Addo Government to ensure the safety and wellbeing of fellow Ghanaians albeit the challenges posed by the pandemic. He informed all present about the state of COVID-19 within the district. He stated that the district had recorded with about 120 cases with 8 deaths.

He urged all drivers to ensure the adherence to COVID-19 protocols in when picking up passengers. He also advised traders to regularly wash their hands and use alcohol-based sanitizers whiles taking and receiving money.  He reiterated the fact that the general public are disregarding the protocols and that all stakeholders should put in efforts to promote and preach about adherence to the protocols

Hon Seth Ofosu Birikorang and his team donated 500 pieces of face masks and about 300 bottles of hand sanitizers to the chairman of Boadua GPRTU. He assured them of subsequent support that the assembly would give them in order to aid them in their daily activities.

The Chairman of Boadua GPRTU; Mr. Malik Achaana expressed his gratitude to the DCE and his team for organizing the stakeholder meeting with them and also donating PPEs to them. He assured the DCE and his team on the adherence to the protocols by all drivers and traders at the station.
