Denkyembour ISD Carries out Publicity on 2021 Population and Housing Census

The Information Services Department in the Denkyembour District has carried out intense publicity on the 2021 Population and Housing Census. The exercise is aimed at educating and sensitizing the public and people of the Denkyembour District on the enumeration of people and living quarters in the district.
The sensitization which began on Monday 14th June 2021 and ended on Friday 18th June 2021 was done across the length and breadth of the district. the use of an information van which played jingles about the program was adopted as part of the sensitization exercise. Also, information centres were visited across the district for the purposes of sensitization. The sensitization team also visited major markets and community-based groups such as farmer-based organizations and driver unions within the district for sensitization on PHC within the 5 days of sensitization.
Major towns visited during the sensitization include Akwatia, Boadua, Sakyikrom, Topremang, Apinamang, Dwenase, Anweaso, No 4, Kusi, Soabe, Takrowase, GCD, Okumaning, Aboabo, Akenkano amongst other localities.
The sensitization hammered on the timelines for listing, census night and enumeration. It also stressed on the responsibilities of citizens in seeing to the success of the exercise and some possible questions the field officers may ask during the exercise. The team also urged all citizens to give field officers their maximum support and answer all questions truthfully since the confidentiality clause would prevent any field officer from disclosing any information to a third party.
The team also visited chiefs, assembly members and opinion leaders in some communities where sensitization took place.
