Meeting with Heads of Depatments in the Denkyembour District Assembly

On Thursday 13th January 2022, the Denkyembour District Assembly under the leadership of Honourable Seth Birikorang Ofosu held a meeting with all Heads of Departments in Denkyembour District at the District’s Conference Hall. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss matters arising from the previous General Assembly meeting and to task specific officers to duties emanating from decisions made during the previous general assembly meeting.
The District Chief Executive; Honourable Seth Birikorang Ofosu welcomed all heads of departments for taking time off their busy schedules to attend such an important meeting. He stated that such meetings are very important for the success and wellbeing of the assembly and assured all heads that such meetings would go on periodically. He mentioned that 2021 has been a challenging year due to the impact of COVID and has affected all areas of the economy including revenue generation but hopes and prays that 2022 would be a good year for the assembly. He therefore appealed to all heads of departments to aid in whichever way possible to help the assembly generate revenue.
The house went through decisions taken at the Third General Assembly Meeting Held on 22nd December 2021. Key amongst the decisions taken were the provision of streetlights to the various electoral areas of the district and support for mock exams for BECE candidates. The assembly also decided to intensify prosecution of citizens who fail to pay for their building permit. Also, the assembly decided to ban the use of lorry tyres in the slaughter houses within the district.
Each department or schedule officer responsible for all the decisions made at the general assembly meeting were urged to perform their respective tasks diligently and effectively in order to be reported during the next general assembly meeting.
The District Chief Executive, in his closing remarks, stated that he was grateful for all inputs from the various departments and for briefing the house about the various activities and challenges and urged that he would see how best management can resolve some of the challenges. He expressed his gratitude to all heads of departments for attending the meeting. He again stated that such meetings would happen every quarter and wished all departments well.
