Denkyembour District Assembly Monitors Developmental Projects

On Thursday 26th August 2021, the Denkyembour District Assembly undertook the first phase of a monitoring exercise for all developmental projects within the district. The purpose for this exercise was to determine the progress of all ongoing and completed projects and to ascertain the true state of these projects. It was also to determine whether the projects were abandoned and to determine the reasons why projects were abandoned if any.

The team, led by the District Coordinating Director, Alhaji Abdulai Abdul-Gafaru, ccommenced the monitoring exercise in Takrowase. The team monitored the renovation of classroom blocks and construction of staff quarters in Takrowase Senior High School. The team also went to Takrowase Presby Basic School to monitor the status of a classroom block. The team also moved to Takrowase Methodist Basic School to monitor an ongoing classroom block and also monitor the construction of a toilet facility for the community.

The team then moved to Wenchi where monitoring of the progress and state of a classroom block at Wenchi Methodist Basic School, construction of Oseawuo Area Council Building, Wenchi Community ICT center, Wenchi lockable stores and Wenchi market were undertaken.

The team finally moved to Okumaning where there was monitoring of the Okumaning-Aboabo Community-Based Health and Preventive Service (CHPS) center. The team also visited the Okumaning Area Council Building to check its progress and state.

All participants noted down their observations for relevant reporting to management. Present during the first phase of the monitoring activity were the District Coordinating Director; Alhaji Abdulai Abdul-Gafaru, the District Finance Officer; Mr. Daniel M. K. Mabe, the District Planning Officer; Mr. Mohammed Baba Abdulai, the District Budget Analyst; Mr. Eric Eshun, the District Procurement Officer; Mr. Prince Abrokwah, the District Director for Social Welfare and Community Development; Mrs. Mabel Twumwaa Acheampong, the District Director for Agric; Mr. Seth Yeboah, the District Information Officer; Mr. Elvis Offei-Bekoe, Assitant Planning Officer; Mr. Edmund Akakpo, and Assistant Internal Auditors; Mr. Bernard Amelorku and Mrs. Helena Mensah.
