Eastern Regional Coordinating Council Conducts Monitoring in Denkyembour District Assembly

On Wednesday 15th June 2022, the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council undertook monitoring exercise in the Denkyembour District Assembly. The objective of the monitoring exercise was to review indicators for the 2021 District Assemblies Performance Assessment Tools for the district and also prepare the district towards the main assessment. The monitoring was focused on indicators of 2021 and first quarter of 2022.
The four member team comprised Mr Felix Offei; Regional Director of Land Use and Spatial Planning Authority (Team Leader), Mr Gideon Medenu; Controller and Accountant General’s Department, Mrs Juliet Asabea Obeng; Assistant Director I and Mr Jonathan Fosu.
The District Coordinating Director; Alhaji Shamrock Abdulai Gafaru welcomed them to the assembly and assured them of a calm compliance throughout the monitoring exercise. He also urged staff to cordially collaborate with them and make themselves readily available to respond to all issues raised by the team.
The major indicators of the monitoring exercise were the implementation of the annual action plan, implementation of the annual budget, accountability and transparency of the assembly, financial management, procurement planning, issues on management and staffing amongst others.
After the exercise, an exit conference was organized where the team gave out their findings on the exercise being done. The assembly performed very well in almost all indicators. The team however raised a few concerns to the assembly that needed to be addressed.
The District Coordinating Director; Alhaji Shamrock Abdulai Gafaru expressed his gratitude to the team for conducting a thorough monitoring and promised them that all suggestions and recommendations would be considered and worked on.
