Denkyembour District Assembly Holds Executive Committee Meeting

On Friday 31st March 2023, the the Executive Committee of the Denkyembour District Assembly chaired by the District Chief Executive; Honorable Seth Birikorang Ofosu held its first meeting for the year 2023. The objective of the meeting was to discuss and approve recommendations from all seven sub-committees of the assembly.

The District Chief Executive; Honorable Seth Birikorang Ofosu welcomed all assembly members and heads of departments to the meeting. He mentioned that all assembly members should encourage their electorates to regularly pay their bills in order to avoid the mass disconnection conducted by the Electricity Company of Ghana. He then took the house through the minutes of the previous meeting which was accepted as a working document for the committee after further deliberations and discussions.

Recommendations from the all the sub-committees which includes Finance and Administration sub-committee, , Justice and Security sub-committee, Development Planning sub-committee, Environmental Health sub-committee, Works sub-committee were presented to the house by the respective sub-committee chairpersons. The committee reviewed it and approved it for onwards approval by the general assembly.

Some of the main recommendations approved by the Executive committee include the a resolution that should be passed by the General Assembly to oblige all Members of Parliament to continue projects that were not completed by the previous Members of Parliament. It also included distribution of at least two waste bins to all public schools within the district and the construction of a toilet facility at GCD Camp. It also included the speeding up of relocation of the Awosua CHPS center and relocation of NO 4 CHPS center.

The chairman for the committee in his closing remarks expressed his gratitude to all members for attending the meeting and for the various views expressed, all in the quest to improve the development of the meeting. He lastly mentioned that all accepted recommendations would be sent to the General Assembly for further deliberation and approval.
