Denkyembour District Holds Budget Hearing for 2023-2026 MMDAs Budget Hearing

On Thursday 27th October 2022, Denkyembour District hosted the budget hearing ceremony for four MMDAs for the 2023-2026 Composite Budget. The budget that saw various delegations from the respective districts including Municipal and District Chief Executives, Presiding Members, Traditional Leaders, Assembly Members, CSOs, NGOs and Heads of Departments was organized by the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council as a requirement towards the preparation of Composite Budgets for all districts.
The District Chief Executive for Denkyembour District Assembly; Honorable Seth Birikorang Ofosu welcomed all members from the other three districts to the occasion. He also extended his warm welcome to the entourage from the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council led by the Acting Regional Coordinating Director, Mr. John A. Donkor. He mentioned that it was important for such an occasion to take place as part of the requirements of the law and guidelines given by the Ministry of Finance.
The Acting Regional Coordinating Director; Mr. John A. Donkor was also called upon to address the ceremony. He, first of foremost, extended his warm regards to all four participatory districts and municipalities for attending the program. He then urged all participants to do a diligent work because the activity was a scoring one in order to perform very well.
Presentations from the four districts which included Upper West Akim District Assembly, West Akim Municipal Assembly, Kwaebibirem Municipal Assembly and Denkyembour District preceded the introductory remarks by the Acting RCD. These presentations were spearheaded by the respective District Budget Analysts of the districts after which the six-man panel scrutinized the documents presented before them.
The Acting RCD congratulated all districts for their participation on the budget hearing. He however urged all districts to work on all recommendations from the panel. He also informed all districts to submit their final draft on time for onwards collation and submission to the Ministry of Finance.
