Eastern Regional CLOGSAG Secretariat Engages Members in Denkyembour District

On Tuesday 21st March 2023, the Regional Secretariat of Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana engaged staff of Denkyembour District Assembly. The primary objective of this engagement was to engage with the staff of Denkyembour District Assembly and explain the rationale behind the compulsory Tier 3 deduction on their payslips.
The Eastern Regional Chairman of CLOGSAG, Mr Mahamood Shakil Kpedau, expressed his gratitude to all members and staff of the Assembly for meeting the regional executives on such a short notice. He began by expressing his sincerest apology for the deductions on the payslip without any engagement with members. He mentioned that they had no authority to enrol all members unto the tier 3 pension scheme which was optional for members.
He however mentioned that members should embrace the new policy as it would go a long way to help them in the future. He used the opportunity together with other executive members to explain the modalities of the scheme together with how the CLOGSAG Fund and Tier 2 deduction operated. He encouraged members to go onto the online platform regularly to access their statement of accounts for all funds being deducted.
After a lengthy discussion and deliberation, the District CLOGSAG Secretary, Mr Akuamoah Acheampong expressed his gratitude to members for honouring the invitation and also thanked the Regional executives for coming down the district level to explain these things to members.
