Denkyembour District Assembly Distributes Mono and Dual Desks to Schools within the District

On Tuesday, 6th August 2024, the Denkyembour District Assembly handed over a substantial number of desks to the District Education Directorate. This initiative aims to support basic schools within the district by providing much-needed furniture to enhance the learning environment for students.

The distribution marked a significant step in addressing the challenges faced by basic schools in the district. A total of 800 desks are to be delivered, consisting of both mono and dual desks. During the event, 170 desks were handed over immediately to the Directorate, with the remaining desks to be delivered upon completion.

The District Chief Executive for the District; Honorable Seth Birikorang Ofosu highlighted the Assembly’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure within the district. The DCE emphasized the importance of providing adequate furniture to ensure a conducive learning environment for students.

The formal handing over of the 170 desks was conducted by the DCE, who symbolically presented a desk to the District Education Director. The DCE assured the gathering that the remaining 630 desks would be completed and handed over promptly to meet the needs of the schools.

The District Education Director; Mr Thomas More Mensah Tsorhe, expressed gratitude on behalf of the schools and students. The Director acknowledged the Assembly’s efforts and underscored the positive impact these desks would have on the students’ learning experiences. The Director also urged for continued support from the Assembly and other stakeholders to address ongoing challenges in the education sector.

The ceremony concluded with a renewed sense of optimism and collaboration among all stakeholders. The Denkyembour District Assembly’s initiative to provide desks is a crucial step towards improving the educational infrastructure in the district. The immediate delivery of 170 desks, with the promise of 630 more, underscores the Assembly’s dedication to enhancing the quality of education for the children in the district.

The education directorate eagerly anticipates the completion and delivery of the remaining desks, which will further bolster the learning environments in the various basic schools.
