Chief Director of Eastern Regional Coordinating Council Meets Staff of Denkyembour District Assembly

On Tuesday, 12th November 2024, the Chief Director of the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council (ERCC), Mr. Yaw Adu Asamoah, paid a working visit to the Denkyembour District Assembly. This visit served as an opportunity for the newly posted Chief Director to familiarize himself with the staff and operations of the Assembly. The visit focused on addressing key administrative and operational issues to enhance efficiency and staff welfare. Mr. Adu Asamoah was accompanied by the Regional Human Resource Officer, Mr. Cyril Xatse.

The primary objectives of the visit was to familiarize with the management and staff of the Denkyembour District Assembly, raise a discussion on attendance, posting, and rationalization of staff within the region. Also, his visit was aimed at addressing matters related to staff welfare, pensions, and career development and lastly to promote good working relations and improving communication within the Assembly.

The visit commenced with an introductory session, during which Mr. Yaw Adu Asamoah expressed gratitude for the warm reception and outlined the purpose of his visit. Mr. Adu Asamoah emphasized the importance of punctuality and regular attendance among staff members to ensure efficiency and productivity. He engaged with department heads to review existing staff postings and proposed rationalization strategies to ensure an equitable distribution of human resources across the region.

Discussions were held on staff welfare policies, with a focus on improving benefits, pensions, and overall job satisfaction. The Chief Director assured the staff of his commitment to addressing their concerns in collaboration with the Regional Human Resource Department. The importance of fostering a positive work environment and open communication was stressed. Mr. Adu Asamoah urged staff to uphold professionalism and mutual respect in their dealings with colleagues and the public.

An interactive session was held, during which staff members raised various concerns, including challenges related to logistical support, career advancement opportunities, and access to training programs. The Chief Director provided immediate responses to some concerns and assured staff of continuous engagement to resolve others.

The staff demonstrated a high level of commitment to their duties but expressed the need for improved logistical support. The Assembly had a well-structured administrative framework, though some departments required additional personnel to function optimally. The interactive session highlighted the need for regular engagement between the Regional Coordinating Council and District Assemblies to address operational challenges promptly.
